Adjustable chains

What makes an adjustable chain different from a regular chain?

One chain covers every length in its range instead of one fixed length. The Addie 24" adjusts anywhere from 14" to 24", and the 30" version goes up to 30". You set the length yourself, so a single chain does the work of several.

How do I adjust it?

Slide the patented adjusting gasket along the chain until the chain sits where you want it, then let go. It stays put. There is no extender to add and no jeweler involved.

Does it still have a clasp?

Yes. Along with the sliding element there is a standard lobster clasp, which is also what lets you hang a pendant on it.

Can I put it on without working a clasp?

At 24" and longer, yes. Set it long, slip it over your head, then slide it down to the length you want. Below 24" the opening is too small to clear your head, so you use the lobster clasp.

Can I wear a pendant on it?

Yes. The chain holds any standard locket or pendant. Save your heaviest statement pieces for a fixed chain.

Will it tarnish? Is it hypoallergenic?

Our chains are hypoallergenic, nickel free, and finished with quality gold or silver plating designed to resist tarnish with normal use. An occasional gentle wipe keeps the shine.

What length should I pick?

16" sits at the base of the neck on most women and 18" touches the collarbone. For a pendant, 18" to 24" depending on where you want it to land. For higher necklines, 20" or longer so the chain clears the collar. If you are between sizes, size up. Our sizing chart has the full range.

Will it fit my necklace?

If it closes with a lobster claw or spring ring, yes. That covers nearly every necklace, bracelet, and anklet made.

Can I put it on myself?

Yes. It clips on in about ten seconds with no jeweler and no tools, it is not permanent, and it adds about an inch of length.

Is it safe with a pacemaker or ICD?

No. Magnets can interfere with implanted cardiac devices. If you have a pacemaker or an ICD, choose an adjustable chain you can slip over your head instead.

What if the magnet fails?

Replaced free under the 1 year manufacturer warranty.

Materials and care

What is your jewelry made of?

Our designs are made in 18K gold plated brass, stainless steel, sterling silver, and gold vermeil, as well as rhodium plated brass. All of our jewelry is nickel, lead, and cadmium free. The exact materials are listed on every product page.

How should I care for it?

Give your pieces occasional breaks from wear and store them away from water and humidity. Avoid contact with moisture and liquid cosmetics, including body oils, lotions, sunscreen, perfume, and makeup. Take your jewelry off before showering, bathing, exercising, or swimming. Where do you ship?

The United States only. We do not currently offer international shipping.

How much is shipping?

Free on U.S. orders of $50 or more, applied automatically at checkout with no code needed. Below $50 a flat standard rate applies, and faster Priority and Express options are available. Exact rates are shown at checkout before you pay.

How soon will my order ship?

Most orders are processed and shipped within 1 to 3 business days, and many ship within 24 hours. Standard delivery by USPS Ground Advantage runs 3 to 5 business days after that.

How do I track my order?

Once your order ships you will get a confirmation email with a tracking number you can use directly on the USPS website.

Where does my order ship from?

Our fulfillment center in Eagle, Idaho, USA.

Returns, exchanges, and warranty

What is your return policy?

We accept returns and exchanges on unworn items in their original packaging within 30 days of delivery. You can choose a refund to your original payment method or store credit. Worn items, items without original packaging, and clearance items cannot be returned. Start any return through our returns portal.

What does the 1 year warranty cover?

Every piece we sell is covered for 1 year from the day your order is delivered. If a piece fails in normal wear within that year, including the adjusting gasket, a clasp, or a Magnetic Clasp Converter, we will replace it or issue a gift card for the original purchase price. You are not responsible for return shipping on a warranty claim.
